Shooting Yourself in the Foot

Gosh, shooting yourself in the foot sounds so painful, and even when it comes to idioms, it is ...

But it really isn't so violent as that.  If you're shooting yourself in the foot, it means that you are sabotaging your success.  You are hurting yourself as if someone else was trying to hurt or injure you.  So, if you have a project that is due soon, don't shoot yourself in the foot by trying to do it all at the last minute.  (If only I could take my own advice.)

Questions, idiom request?  Leave a comment.  Otherwise, I'll see you tomorrow!

  2. Arthur: I'm not sure whether you're the exception that proves the rule or a stumbling block for the rest of us who need to start sooner but put things off. LOL ;)
